Self Seekers is a staged multimedia production that includes the musicians of The Amplified Elephants filming themselves live, and then projecting those images into the performance space.

The work comes from The Amplified Elephants' investigation of their own identities. Significantly, this work is very close to the hearts of The Amplified Elephants, and it is something they turn to when they are seeking to unpack the sound art that best represents their own collective voice.

The work was last performed in 2018 at Footscray Community Arts, and through this recording from 2024 the work is now being prepared for new revised presentations.

Philosophically the work is about unfolding the layers of the self to comprehend what might lie at the core of a person. There we find unity: all living beings are one identity and equal. This message from The Amplified Elephants is a powerful reminder that while difference is something to be celebrated, there is a life essence that is self-similar with all beings: that to find the self is to find all that lives: alive and well within each of us.
